Biography

Engineer by day, tinkerer, motorhead, and business owner by night. Traveler, explorer, and amateur photographer whenever possible.

Born and raised in Upstate NY, I’ve lived here all my life. I’m apparently one of the few people from the area who have grown to appreciate the volatile yet incredibly stable weather, combined with low cost of living, and easy access to beaches, mountains, and some of the biggest cities in the world nearby.

In the past 10 years I’ve worked retail management, precision machining, bartending, and ultimately 12-volt product design engineering while owning a small business dedicated to both welding/fabrication, and enterprise information technology solutions.

I’m firmly dedicated to a life of learning.

I have no shortage of hobbies to pursue while I’m busy building my life. My most prevalent passions lie in skiing, hiking, rock climbing, camping, racing, jet-skiing, off-roading, mountain biking, and obviously traveling.

Probably the most important part of who I am, the thing that defines me and ultimately what I’m able to do, is that I’m surrounded with the absolute best and most supportive friends and family that I could ever ask for.

Ethos

I’m a man of simple tastes and simple beliefs. I believe the purpose of life is to do whatever you want pretty much all of the time, and try not to be a dick along the way. I think travel is the best way to expand your horizons and put your life in perspective to the rest of the world, and the more I do, the better I feel. My evidence is anecdotal at best, but I don’t know anyone that travels by their own volition who is miserable.

In truth, I don’t like talking about myself and this was the most difficult part of this page to fill out. But I hear on a somewhat regular basis that people wish they could do what I do, and I wanted to make this page to show that what I do is not that special and anyone can do it.

Neither myself nor my travel companions are independently wealthy. We’re not sponsored, or bloggers, or any of the stereotypical people you normally see exploring the world. We’re just normal people who decided we wanted to see the world, and would do what we needed to make that happen.

The truth is, when you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone, ditch the travel agents and the tour groups, you can see absolutely amazing things almost anywhere in the world for the same budget that most people have to go get drunk on a beach 6 hours away.

Life is short.

Live your dream and share your passion.
